Color me a happy camper!

Been walking around all day with my Ipod jammin' away to Neil Diamond's new CD - Home Before Dark. All I can say is wow.

I know there are some ND fans around here somewhere...Momma? With the new CD and the new tour coming up, I'm a happy camper. I just have to figure out how to get to one of his shows. He's in Glendale AZ and San Antonio while I'm in DC for a wedding but he's doing 3 more dates in TX and then 1 in OKC. Might be able to hit one of those on the way back. Have to think quick cuz I'll have to get tickets!!

A Note From the kat
Will have to check that one out, Auntie Em!
I'm a long time fan.

Belated wishes to those I've missed. Time seems to get away from me lately.

Juleighanne has one more soccer practice tonight and then a last game on Saturday. School is done in 8 1/2 more days. Today was their class field trip to the Omaha Royals. Dad went along. Think she had a good time although she isn't particularly a baseball fan. She had piano recital last weekend so that is done. Time for most of her regular stuff to start ending. Will be stuff to take its place I am sure.

We are busy as always but doing okay I think. Reading the newest Miss Julia book at the moment. Those are always fun reads. Have the new Debbie Macomber to get to next. My list just gets longer and longer.

Gotta run!

Good Afternoon my WOWsies! I hope you are all having wonderful days.
Overcast and really trying to warm up but geez laweez I can't get warm in this house right now. The furnace is off and rewally do not want to turn it on .. like trying to force the weather to be warm like it supposed to be by not starting it up.

So this news about Boyds is kinda good I guess. I haven't been buying any of it except the odd TB since the big guy got sick but also noticed such a lack of inspiration in the line once Gary left. The whole family feel was because of Gary so it stands to reason that when you take the personality out the product it becomes just like the rest of the product lines out there. I hope they can revamp that feel to give the bears a boost as I am sure they miss us too!!
My bears ... all 500 of them are still in totes now in the garage and I know it will be awhile yet before I can delve into those to see who I have in there. Maybe by Christmas I will find my Elves to display again. I do have Martha and Bromley out though .. they came with me in a box that was with my puter stuff when we went to the last place too. Right now I'm still unpacking things we use ... and books ... and kitchen/bathroom/etc. before I get into the Knickknacks and ornament stuff.
Our friendships were the most valuable part of our love of a little bear or two and that will never change ... it was destined. I cherish each and every one of you ... it goes so much further beyond an online acquaintance, we are family!

I am soooo going to try to get my office a bit more organized today ... puter here is still sitting on a roll around table. Have got to get it established on the desk and better unpack the scanner too, ... the web cam, the hub, the external HDs ... etc.
Hung some more pictures yesterday. So much on the ground here I'm tripping over stuff so best to get them up off of it. It will be a long while before I can paint. Outside is waiting too ... have bedding plants waiting for the planters never mind the potted stuff I brought with me that needs to get into the ground before it's too late again. The problem there is that the garden areas were so overgrown it is taking time to get them tilled and weeded, especially with the chilly weather we've had this spring.
Got a couple of tomato plants to put into the greenhouse. I don't have time to start anything from seed right now plus the greenhouse is housing a lot of Ralph's junk until he gets it sorted.

Wishing you all a fun and lovely HUMP-day sweeties. Better get to doing something around here as it is already 1PM.
Love and hugs all around the room. Joy

A Note From Elaine C.
Oh Joy!! You made me tired just knowing what all you will be doing to get your house in order. Once it is all done sweetie..you will be beaming. I hope to see pictures of your home when it is finished. It will look gorgeous.

Good Morning ... overcast & may rain.
We sure need it.
Got my porch containers planted yesterday.

Will be taking Mom to doc this morning & out for a bit of shopping.
Wednesday's our water is off from 9am-2pm so have to get ready for that.

Enesco has top quality lines so Boyds will be in good hands. Gary & Liz gave our bear freinds so much personality we can continue to enjoy as we enjoy our collections. Personally, I have way too many even trading them out for seasons as I don't just have them strunge every where without a purpose. BUT if a bear or resin just captures me ... I can find room. Looking forward to what Enseco will do. Of course as it turns out our friendships are the best part of all. Love to you all & so glad that our little bears brought us together.

I best get busy ... would ask for some extra prayers for Jeff. Thanks

Have to admit my original love of Boyds and enthusiasm went when Gary left and the new group cheaped out the lines. Then Hurricane Rita blew 90% of my collection away. Rude. Anyway, I have to travel to Texas to get Boyds or order from Spring, Texas. So needless to say, I don't do Boyds often. BUT the relationships that came from collecting Boyds is beyond value. I cherish these relationships! Have a Blessed day.

A Note From FaithA
Did want to tack this on. I'm hoping Enesco makes a wonderful contribution to Boyds and will admit my reaction to the news comes from being'bruised' by what the did to Boyds after Gary. Would LOVE to see Boyds back up there..I miss the hunts for 1E's..looking for that hard to find bear..memories of that make me smile. Hugs!

Evening WoWsie Gals...Geeze, I just read the news about Boyds. At first my heart just sank...:( I could feel it too!! I don't know if it will be a good thing or not. Guess we just all have to wait and see what is going to happen. Like I said on the BnB...I have made some wonderful friends due to Boyds...AND..I plan on keeping those dear friends too.

I haven't been able to buy any of the Boyds products in such a very long time. With only me working...I just couldn't go out and by a bear or whatever. I have my little *wish list*....and will keep it going too. I still do love my Boyds and always will.

I hope everyone is doing well and having a good evening....:)

Ray has passed his pulminary exam with flying colors. Next week he will see the heart specialist. Hopefully he will continue to pass all of the medical exams to keep his surgery on schedule. I know he will feel so much better when this is all over with.

*My Playground* is finaly finished with state testing. I am so thankful it is over with. Now to settle down for the last six weeks of school. School is out June 13th.....can't believe the school year is almost over with.

Have a blessed evening my dear WoWsie friends...Prayers for ALL....and many hugs to go all around. Love all of you.

I hear you there and there, Kat. Gary's philosophy blew out the door by year 2, 3 at the latest. I think maybe Enesco might have a better idea...they have some hot lines of their own.

Day 2 is in the books. This is just going to be awkward and uncomfortable until it's over. I'm just going through the motions making it all happen while our "lame duck" limps through the rest of the year. All I can hope is that the new lady will ok to work with, do her job and BE there. Good grief. She'll also be in charge of curriculum district-wide. The Supt. tells us that's "invisible" time...she can be doing that part of her job while at the site (but what about the seminars, the presentations, the meetings...??). Oh well. Such it is, such it is.

Our weather is generating thunderheads by late afternoons. Hot in the valleys, but still chilly up in the mountains. Our community is nestled right at the edge of the foothills, so the thunderheads build, then drift over the valley. Just as long as they don't start playing sparkler games...we dried out so fast this year, and we're in the 2nd year of declining rainfall and snowpack, that we're tinder dry, and there's plenty of tender. There's still plenty of pasture-land here, fields of waving wild oat-grass, as gold as a child's hair. The trees are drier than usual, so everything is ripe for a good, hard burn.

I'm rambling...so I'm off to shower and see what's going to be for supper. Bear huggs to all and to all a good night!!

A Note From the kat
Yes Glennis,
and the friendships/family
we have made as a direct result of our mutual love
for Boyds will not change.

Enesco Signs Long-Term Strategic Agreement with the Boyds Collection

Enesco, LLC, a leader in the gift, and home and garden décor
industries, today announced the signing of an exclusive, long-term,
worldwide, strategic agreement with The Boyds Collection, Ltd. Under
the agreement, Boyds grants Enesco a license to design, manufacture
and market certain products and brands of Boyds beginning May 6. The
agreement covers a broad variety of formats and categories including
plush, resin, ceramic and other materials. Enesco will also acquire
select assets of Boyds and hire certain Boyds employees who will
continue to be based in Pennsylvania. Boyds sells its products
through an extensive network of independent gift and collectibles
retailers, premier department stores and select national accounts, as
well as its retail store in Gettysburg, Penn.

"Boyds has been a unique and important brand among collectors in our
business for almost 30 years. It is with great excitement and a keen
sense of responsibility to the brand's historical roots that we have
formed this strategic relationship," said Matt Bousquette, Executive
Chairman of Enesco, LLC. "It is our intention to infuse creativity
and investment into the design and marketing of the brand, while
building upon the key elements which have made it successful for so
many years. We plan to expand the existing line and create new
products that will excite both retailers and Boyds consumers,
alike."

The licensing agreement with Boyds builds on Enesco's strategy of
aggressive global growth in the gift, garden and home décor markets
through internal growth, licensing and acquisitions. This represents
the addition of another major brand to the Enesco portfolio, which
joins recently added brands: Our Name is Mud®, Country Artists®, Bob
Olszewski's Gallery of LightTM, philoSophie's® and Jubilee ArtTM.

"The strength of our portfolio of brands will continue to drive
profitable business into retail stores by providing a wide array of
highly appealing products to meet consumers' needs," said
Bousquette.

A Note From JaniceTX
This is sad news to me, but not surprising...the one thing that really concerns me is the "expanding" the existing line cause I think that's what got Boyds into hot water to start with, think less is more. Hopefully this won't impact the friendships formed due to Boyds...definitely won't affect my smiles and sweet memories!

Just dropping by to say hello! It is going to be a warm day here so I have to remember to put sunscreen on Allanna today for when they play outside. She hates the stuff we have. You spray it on and she does not like the feel of the stuff I think is what the problem is. She will remind me if she did not have it on when we go out the door in the mornings.

Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers Amysta

Good grief...it's gone from the upper 60's to 89º (and counting the minutes to see if we hit 90º) today. For crying out loud...I could really wait another 3 weeks for Summer to kick in! No one is ready for this yet. Bruce said he picked all the peas down to 1 inch yesterday...and either he missed a bunch, or they grew 2-3 inches overnight.

Bosslady came back. She had a Dr. appt. and was half an hour late getting in. She elected not to do anything today except get the feel of the place again. Her door should have been revolving today. Lots of folks getting their 2¢ worth in. *sigh*

Hey...thanks for the ideas! I love the wall murals! I sent her the link. We don't get a lot of choice about light fixtures either. We have fluorescents...and trust me, they don't "waste" $$ on full spectrum lights for us. Our storage areas are those portable storage units that look like rail cars. It was a man's office initially. Why they did the layout they did is beyond me. It's a very small workspace for 5 people + extras coming and going. You can't get 10 people in the foyer...and yet, my workspace is perfect for me. I work in a horseshoe shaped space, but have no way to shut the world out. Oh....how I'd love to sometimes!

Does anyone have plans for Mexican food tonight? I don't know what it's going to be yet...I'm not cooking it. I had enough today, and I have no patience left for cooking. We'll find something out there...even if it's Taco Bell! Not really...chile rellenos sure sound good though...

A Note From JaniceTX
We have had Mexican food 3 times in past 5 days including tonights tacos, black beans and sliced avacado.. had to do some to celebrate. I have leftover from one eating out for lunch tomorrow... We were only in 70's today but when this front moves on we are predicted to hit low 90's by weekend...yes it toooo early for summer but methinks its here!
